Have you tried 1:1 Healing? 🤍

A Reiki moment captured at our Reiki 1 Certification last year.

A reflection on healing by Jenny Berglund Castro

“What is Healing?” is a question I often get. Healing is a word we use often, yet it can mean very different things to different people. For some, healing is about easing physical pain. For others, it is about calming the nervous system, processing emotions, or finding a sense of meaning and wholeness again.

In my experience, healing is rarely about “fixing” something. It is more often about restoring connection—to the body, to breath, to inner awareness, and to the innate intelligence that already exists within us.

At HOME in yoga, as Yoga teacher / Healer and Founder of Home in yoga I offer Reiki Healing, Intuitive Healing, and Sound Healing—both 1:1 sessions and small private groups. These modalities differ in form, yet they share the same intention: to create the conditions in which the body and mind can return to balance. The first time I experienced all these different techniques, I was blown away…

Healing as a nervous system experience

From years of practice and study, one thing is clear: The body heals best when it feels safe. We learn this especially when we go through an event when the body does not feel safe and is thrown off-balance.

Many of us live with a chronically activated nervous system—constantly alert, overstimulated, or holding unresolved stress. Healing work supports the shift from “doing” to “being,” from tension to regulation.

When the nervous system settles, other processes follow naturally:

  • muscles soften

  • breath deepens

  • digestion improves

  • emotional layers can surface and release

  • clarity and intuition become more accessible

This is not something we force. It is something we allow - or find our way back into.

Reiki Healing

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing that works through light touch or hands held just above the body. The practice originates from Japan and is based on the understanding that life energy flows through all living beings.

During a Reiki session, the intention is not to direct or manipulate energy, but to support the body’s own intelligence to rebalance itself. Many people experience:

  • deep relaxation

  • reduced stress and anxiety

  • a sense of warmth or flow

  • emotional release

  • improved sleep and recovery

Reiki often works subtly yet profoundly, especially over time or in periods of transition, fatigue, or emotional processing. I use Reiki almost on a daily basis, often as I’m about to fall asleep, I call in Reiki and place one hand on my chest and one on my belly to allow for the light to start flowing in. :)

Intuitive Healing

Intuitive Healing is less structured and more responsive to what arises in the moment. It is guided by presence, listening, and sensitivity to the client’s physical, emotional, and energetic state. In intuitive healing we use our Third Eye (Ajna chakra) to read, feel, sense, explore information.

In these sessions, I work with:

  • gentle touch or hands-off techniques

  • breath awareness

  • verbal reflection or silence

  • energetic sensing and grounding

Intuitive Healing is particularly supportive when words are insufficient—when something is felt but not yet fully understood. It allows space for insight, integration, and self-trust to emerge organically. Sometimes we speak, ask questions and find answers, sometimes we’re quiet and simply flow with the energies.

Sound Healing

Sound has been used as a healing tool across cultures for thousands of years. In Sound Healing, instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, and chimes are used to create vibrations that the body receives not only through the ears, but through the skin, tissues, and nervous system.

Sound can:

  • calm the mind

  • shift brainwave states

  • release tension held in the body

  • support meditation and deep rest

In both individual sessions and small groups, sound creates a shared field of resonance—a space where effort dissolves and the body can rest deeply. Sound healing is being used more and more as a complement during peoples healing journeys and research is supporting its impact.

1:1 sessions and small private groups

Healing work is always personal. Some people prefer 1:1 sessions, where the space is entirely their own—quiet, intimate, and deeply attuned.

Others are drawn to small private groups, where healing happens not only individually but also through shared presence. In small groups, many experience a sense of recognition, belonging, and collective regulation that can be very powerful.

Both formats offer something valuable. What matters most is choosing what feels supportive for you right now.

Healing is a process, not a destination

Healing does not mean that life becomes free of challenge. It means we meet life with more capacity, awareness, and resilience. Sometimes healing is gentle and slow. Sometimes it brings clarity or change. Often, it simply brings us home to ourselves. :)

If you are curious about Reiki Healing, Intuitive Healing, or Sound Healing—whether privately or in a small group—you are warmly welcome to reach out. We begin where you are.
